[su_spacer size=”40″] Sony Michel is a sophomore running back for the Georgia Bulldawgs. He is a graduate of American Heritage high school out of Plantation, Florida where he played varsity football for Coach Mike Rumph. He is a 2014 US Army High School All-American, and 2013 USA Today Florida Football Player of the Year.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Sony is a member of the Dawgs 2014 recruiting class along with his high school teammate and current UGA sophomore WR Isaiah “The Joystick” McKenzie. As a true freshman, Sony played in 8 games and made 1 start at tailback for the Dawgs. He rushed for 410 yards on 64 carries and scored 5 touchdowns. Michel also had 7 receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown.
[su_spacer size=”40″] For 2014, Sony and his cohorts at tailback; Nick Chubb, Brendan Douglas, and Todd Gurley, ran rough shot over opposing defense. Even though Gurley is now in the pros, Michel will join a deep and talented tailback unit for the 2015 season where he is currently just behind sophomore Nick Chubb on the depth chart. Sony is also a fearsome special teams player.
