Georgia’s bullpen was on top of their game Tuesday night. Luke Wagner came in to relieve starting pitcher Garrett Brown, after a 22-minute delay due to trouble with the lights at Foley. Wagner pitched 2.1 innings, recording 5 strikeouts to earn the win tonight and his career high. Jaden Woods came in and pitched a dominant 3.2 innings. Woods gave up one run and earned a career high of seven strikeouts.
“It feels great, but an even better feeling getting the win. Just coming out here and getting the win feels amazing,” said Woods.

The Dawgs scored early today with an RBI single hit down third-base to score Anderson. Georgia obtained a fast lead 1-0.

Cory Acton plated Anderson after a double and gave Georgia a 2-0 lead. Top of the fourth inning, Wofford loaded the bases for the first time of night with only one out. Wagner worked diligently to strike the next two batters out to end the inning.

The next few innings remained scoreless for both teams until Corey Collins sent one deep for the Bulldogs in the bottom of the 7th and extended Georgia’s lead to 4-0.

In the eighth inning, the Terriers got their first run of the night off of a single. In the bottom of the inning, Dwight Allen beat out the throw to first and moved to second on an E6. Josh McAllister advanced Allen to third with a beautiful bunt. Late in the inning, Ben Anderson sent one flying over the scoreboard to bring Georgia’s final score to 7-1.

Georgia will be back in action Friday at 5 pm against Akron. First pitch is set for 5pm.
