The Bulldogs practice was pretty much on par today with a few guys back and a few others missing, but other than that practice seemed to not have too many surprises. We also got a better idea of how the depth chart looks on defense and the offensive line. It’s no surprise that the quarterback depth chart is still a mystery for the most part.
Starting on the offensive side of the ball, I saw some very encouraging things for the Bulldogs. At the running back position, we saw every running back participating in normal running back drills, including Sony Michel and Shaquery Wilson. Having all of the running backs back in the normal rotation is very encouraging because it gives the Bulldogs the hope of having greater depth at a pivotal position. Wilson should be ready to go well before the season opener, but if Michel is able to be available for the opening game, it will be a huge help for sure.
I also got a better idea of the depth chart of the offensive line going three deep into the depth chart. The starters from left to right are: Isaiah Wynn, Dyshon Sims, Brandon Kublanow, Lamont Gaillard, and Greg Pyke. The second team offensive line left to right is as follows: Aulden Bynum, Ben Cleveland, Billy Seward, Solomon Kindley, and Kendall Baker. Finally rounding out the third team rounds out the rest of the offensive line and left to right line up like this: Tyler Catalina, Chris Barnes, Thomas Swilley, Pat Allen, and Sage Hardin.
Now, the defensive side of the ball was a little less encouraging in terms of players missing from practice yesterday. For starters, it was yet another practice with defensive tackle John Atkins missing from the field because of a hyper-extended knee injury, which he has been nursing for the past few days. Also, Natrez Patrick, who is a probable starter at inside linebacker, was not able to participate in normal practice today and spent a lot of time on a stationary bike. On the flip side, I was able to spot Jonathan Ledbetter back at practice for the second time, with the first time being on fan day on Saturday.
With Atkins and Patrick missing from the starting lineup, I saw Roquan Smith take some first team reps and freshman Julian Rochester also got some looks on the first team. The hope this week is that the Bulldogs return to full strength and are able to prepare with a true first team defense with no players missing. The Bulldogs continue to look good in practice as we edge closer and closer to game one.

There have not been any true Stand out guys in practice thus far. I think Catalina may move up the depth chart but they’re just giving it time before thrusting him into a starting role. Would not be surprised to see him as a swing guy once the season starts.
I would not be surprised if he challenged for a starting job. Although Sims and Gaillard have received a lot of praise from Pittman in practice.
Great to hear our 17 year old Big Ben is getting some 2d Team experience, he should be a super star by the time he’s ready for the NFL Draft. tough and ready. GO DAWG
Looks like the offensive line is coming along. Hopefully, Coach Pittman can develop some depth here, which is definitely where things are headed.
Also, really relieved to see the RBs look to be all getting healthy. Got to cross our fingers that it stays that way through Fall Camp and they are all ready to go for the North Carolina game.
Thanks @Michael Pope
Trey Downs I bet Kirby and Rocker find them for him! If not, I bet we see some roster management!
DawgByte Hard for me to believe too. He put on weight, but a lot of it is gut. Sorry, but it is what I see. He must have great technique and quickness.
Thanks Buddy! I kept telling folks Gallaird was the Man! I know it is early but he has size and quickness and tree stumps for legs! Keep up the good work we enjoy hearing from you!
A couple of big guards on that #2 OL –On Bynum, remember he was playing some tight end,so he is athletic and has put on a bunch of muscle. Thanks again Michael !
Colonial Dawg Me too!!!
Aulden Bynum second string LT?!*%
Surprised that Catalina isn’t making a bigger push for one of the tackle spots. Can you shed any light on his performance?
Looking for big things out of R. Smith this year! From what I hear, Rochester needs to find his college shoes!
