Oscar Delp (TE #4) – The highly touted high school prospect has settled into a much larger role this season after the departure of Darnell Washington. Delp highlighted his Week One performance with an acrobatic touchdown in the second half against UT Martin. Delp’s offseason weight training regimen has helped the talented tight end add 15 pounds, and despite pass catching being the tight end’s forte, Delp is looking to improve his physical ability at the line of scrimmage. Delp should feature heavily for Georgia’s offense Week Two.
Earnest Greene III (LT #71) – Greene III has earned the right to protect Carson Beck’s blindside for the Bulldogs in 2023. With a new quarterback at the helm, Georgia is searching for its next long-term safety net to establish reliable pass protection for gunslinger Carson Beck. Greene III played exceptionally well against UT Martin, allowing Beck to keep his jersey clean. Look for the freshman to boost his confidence in another non-conference battle this Saturday against Ball State.
Dominic Lovett (WR #6) – Lovett finished his Georgia debut by racking up three catches for 25 yards. The Missouri transfer wideout is expected to be a critical piece of this offense moving forward and is yet another weapon for Mike Bobo to take advantage of. Lovett’s elite route running and exceptional catch radius should provide all the makings for a dominant performance against the Cardinals.
Javon Bullard (S #22) – Georgia shifted the talented defensive back to safety this offseason where Bullard and Malaki Starks combine forces to create one of the most dominant pairings in all of college football. In his first game back at safety, Bullard managed to record four tackles against UT Martin. Bullard looks to put together another dominant performance early in the season to set the tone for a Georgia secondary with immense talent.
Kamari Lassiter (CB #3) – Lassiter was dealing with a foot injury during fall camp but was able to take the field against UT Martin, where he managed to completely lock down his side of the field. With the departure of Keele Ringo to the Philadelphia Eagles, Lassiter is now Georgia’s new No. 1 cornerback. The junior showcased his coverage skills, and when given the opportunity, he will certainly look to come downfield and make a tackle. As the leader in the Bulldogs’ secondary, he aims to eliminate Ball State’s aerial threat this Saturday in Athens.
Xavian Sorey Jr. (LB #18) – Sorey Jr. is coming off an excellent spring, and with multiple years of experience in Georgia’s system, the talented linebacker is in a prime position to have a breakout season. The junior played significant minutes against UT Martin, asserting himself into the rotation of one of the most talented inside linebacker groups in the SEC. With a second consecutive team coming to Athens from outside a Power Five conference, Sorey Jr. will be looking to capitalize on his meaningful minutes.
