Ten years ago Appalachian State pulled off one of the greatest upsets in college football history when they defeated the Michigan Wolverines who were ranked No. 5, at the time, and the Georgia coaching staff are making sure that the players do not forget it.

 
The 2017 Bulldogs do not want their names to go down in history with the 2007 Wolverines as being on the losing end of a huge upset so these coaches are doing what they can to make their players keep this game in mind. One way they are hammering this home is by constantly playing that 2007 Appalachian State-Michigan game in the UGA weight room.
 
 
Bulldogs senior left tackle Isaiah Wynn said that they have played this game multiple times in the weight room, and he believes he has already seen this game four times during this week alone. This constant reminder should give the Georgia players more drive to remained focus so as to not end up on the wrong side of history.
 
 

 
 
Although this game happened 10 years ago, the Mountaineers almost upset the Tennessee Volunteers in week one last year as that game took overtime to be decided. Appalachian State returns multiple players on both sides of the ball so they should be just as effective as they were last year.
 
 
I am sure Head Coach Kirby Smart is making sure that his players are mindful of the Mountaineers upset bid last year as well to keep his players solely focused on this game and not looking ahead to week two and Notre Dame. Appalachian State has shown that they can compete against the best so the Bulldogs will need to stay completely focused if they hope to start off their season with a win.
