Caliya Robinson, a senior forward on the Georgia Lady Bulldogs basketball team, is one of 15 players from across the country to be named to the 2019 Naismith Women’s Defensive Player of the Year Midseason Watch List, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced on Friday.
Th Marietta, Georgia native is the Southeastern Conference’s active career blocked shots leader with 261 — a mark that is just 37 shy of setting the Georgia school record, which is currently held by Tawana McDonald (297 blocks from 1998-2002).
Robinson paces the Lady Bulldogs in both scoring and rebounding this year with 13.7 ppg and 7.8 rpg. She has scored in double figures in 14 of 19 games and has three or more blocks in seven contests this season.
