Junior Chelsea Wilkinson has been named the Southeastern Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the league office. It is the second weekly honor for Wilkinson this season and the fourth of her career. It is the fourth time this season that a Georgia player has been honored by the league office for a weekly award.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Wilkinson went 4-0 last week, throwing 23.2 of the 30 innings the Georgia played, while running her recorded to 21-6. She did not give up a run and allowed just seven hits in four games. Among her wins were two complete-game shutouts. She combined to throw one more shutout, throwing six of the seven innings in that game. The Taylorsville, N.C., native struck out 28 batters and gave up just one walk in the first 16.2 innings she pitched last week.
