With Georgia coming off of such a big win over No. 3 Clemson, it can be hard to move on to the next game. Georgia will face the UAB Blazers at Sanford Stadium on Saturday at 3:30 p.m., which will be at capacity for the first time since the Bulldogs played Texas A&M in November of 2019.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart praised UAB head coach Bill Clark for how well he has done at UAB and called them “a really good team.” With that, the Bulldogs have already moved their focus to this upcoming Saturday’s matchup. What they will bring from the Clemson game is confidence, but in a healthy dose.

“It means a lot for confidence,” said Smart on Monday. “Confidence can help. Can overconfidence hurt? Yeah. So there’s a line there… yeah it does give them more confidence, it does. But it better not give them overconfidence because humility is one week away.”

You could see the tight-knit bond between the players celebrating on Saturday night. Whether it was Christopher Smith’s interception return, Nakobe Dean’s sacks or Zamir White running over defenders, the Bulldogs seemed to be all in for each other.

Some experienced players on the squad talked about what makes the bond on this year’s team different on Monday.

“The camaraderie on this team is awesome. I love being a part of this team,” said punter Jake Camarda. “I think this team is really close to each other. I think that everyone out there is not just playing for themselves but playing for each other. And I think that is super important. It’s something special to be a part of for sure.”

“Everybody just bought into the plan,” said defensive back Latavious Brini. “We’re just a brotherhood, it’s really a brotherhood.”

Georgia will need to continue that brotherhood for a lot longer. Although the game did feel like a “heavyweight fight” as described by Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney, the Bulldogs still have 11 more regular-season games ahead.

“I think that’s the big thing, there’s still so much left,” said junior offensive lineman Warren Ericson. “I know coach Smart said that after the game, whether we win or lose, we have everything in front of us. So, what we have to do is, on Saturday, go out and take full advantage of our opportunity.”
