College football prospective student-athletes for the 2020 recruiting class are starting to schedule their official visits for this fall, and the son of a legendary former Dallas Cowboy running back Emmitt Smith has set his sight for Athens, GA. EJ Smith has lined up an official visit to the University of Georgia for the Bulldawgs home game versus Notre Dame on September 21st. Smith also has official visits lined up to the same school his father played it, Florida, on October 4th, which is the weekend the Gators host Auburn. Smith has also set a visit to Texas A&M on October 12th, the weekend the Aggies have a showdown with the Crimson Tide in College Station.
The Bulldawgs, Gators, and Aggies are just three of EJ Smith’s top-5 schools he named back on June 5th. Smith is likely to take his remaining two official visits to the other two on his list, Ohio State and Stanford, before he makes a final decision and announcement on where he will be committing. EJ Smith narrowed down his top-5 from over 22 scholarship offers.

247Sports rates EJ Smith a 4-star prospect and the No. 4 all-purpose RB, the No. 17 player from the state of Texas, and the No. 122 player overall nationally for 2020. Rivals also rates Smith a 4-star prospect but have him as the No. 3 athlete, the No. 14 player from the Lonestar State, and a top-100 player nationally overall at No. 95.
The 5-foot-11 and 198 lbs rising senior plays at both RB and WR for Dallas Jesuit High School in Dallas, TX. Last year, he rushed the ball 154 times for 890 yards and 12 touchdowns from the tailback spot and then as a receiver, caught 40 passed for 478 yards and an additional 5 TDs. In 2017, as a sophomore, Smith carried the ball 176 times for 1,177 yards and 24 TDs and added 33 receptions for 540 yards and 7 TDs.
