On Tuesday, the University of Georgia extended a scholarship offer to Cy-Fair High School, Cypress, TX running back Johnathan “LJ” Johnson, Jr.
The offer marks Johnson’s 20th overall and he also holds offers from Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, Stanford, Texas, and Texas A&M to name a few others.
Johnson is currently rated a 4-star prospect and the No. 6 RB by 247Sports, and he is also rated a 4-star prospect by Rivals who has him as the No. 5 RB in the 2021 recruiting class. Johnson is also considered one of the top-15 prospective student-athletes in the state of Texas for 2021.
The 5-foot-10 and 209 lbs junior carried the ball over 209 times for 1,952 yards and 37 touchdowns for the Bobcats in 12 games this past season. That is an average of 9.5 yards per carry. As a sophomore in 2018, Johnson played in 13 games for Cy-Fair and rushed for 1,139 yards and 20 TDs on 164 carries.
