With Kendall Milton announcing his commitment to UGA last week on Monday, will the Bulldawgs take a second running back in the 2020 class? That is a very likely scenario, and that second tailback could be Zachary Evans.
Evans is a 5-foot-11 and 200 lbs rising senior out of North Shore High School in Houston, TX. 247Sports rates the 5-foot-11 and 200 lbs senior a 5-star prospect, the No. 1 RB, No. 1 player from the state of Texas, and the No. 6 recruit nationally overall for 2020. Rivals also rates Evans a 5-star prospect, the No. 1 RB, the No. 1 player from the state of Texas, but have him as the No. 9 recruit nationally overall.
So what are the Dawgs’ chances with Zach Evans?
He has Georgia as one of his top-5 schools out of over 44 scholarship offers. Evans also visited UGA recently, back on July 27th, and by all accounts, had a very good trip to Athens.

And whether or not Evans considers Georgia could hinge on the decision of another 2020 RB. Tank Bigsby is scheduled to announce his commitment on Friday, August 9 at 6:30 p.m. EST, and the Bulldawgs are one of four teams he is considering. If Bigsby chooses UGA, then it is unlikely the Georgia coaching staff would take a third back in this recruiting cycle. However, if Bigsby goes elsewhere, that could mean that the Dawgs stand a good chance of landing Evans. As of right now, Evans hasn’t set a date to announce his decision.
