On Sunday, outside linebacker Barrett Carter Tweeted out on Twitter account that there would be making a big announcement on Wednesday, February 12th in the afternoon at around 5:00 p.m. ET.
The 6-foot-1 and 210 lbs junior out of North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, GA is rated a four-star prospect by both 247Sports and Rivals as well as ESPN. He is consider a top-ten outside linebacker and player from the Peach State as well as a top-100 prospect nationally for the 2021 recruiting class.
The Bulldogs offered Carter back in June 2019 last summer.
He also recently took an unofficial visit to Athens for a junior day at the University of Georgia in January.
Including the one from Georgia, Carter has over 52 scholarship offers so far. When you watch Carter play, his highlights are down below, it becomes apparent why so many college programs have offered. He is athletic and fast with a motor. He has a verified 4.59-second timed 40 and a 4.22-second shuttle to go along with a 35.60-inch vertical.
Those numbers are comparable to one former Bulldawg star and current Chicago Bears’ linebacker, Roquan Smith when Smith was at Macon County High School. Carter’s speed and athleticism are on full display on the football field. As a sophomore for the North Gwinnett Bulldogs, Carter had 51 tackles, 7 for a loss, 3 quarterback sacks, and 3 quarterback pressures to go along with an interception. This past season, as a junior, Carter had over 76 stops, 9 tackles for a loss, 9 quarterback sacks, and 7 quarterback pressures. He also plays on offense at RB.
