UGA will be looking to replace as many as six senior defensive linemen after the 2019 season and four more after 2020. With that, the d-line is a priority for the Dawgs’ coaching staff when it comes to 2020 and 2021 recruiting. And there is good news on that front as Georgia made Maason Smith‘s top-ten final schools, a list he released early Sunday morning.

Smith narrowed down his top schools from over 24 scholarship offers.
The 6-foot-4.5 and 316 lbs Terrebonne High School junior is one of the top defensive tackles and nose guards in the 2021 recruiting class. 247Sports ranks Smith a 5-star prospect, the No. 3 DT, and No. 1 player from the state of Louisiana. He is considered a top-25 player nationally at No. 22. Rivals rates Smith a 4-star prospect, but also have him as one of the top defensive tackles in 2021 at No. 2. Rivals also has Smith as the top player from the state of Louisiana and as a top-25 player nationally at No. 20.
Right now, Smith is considered an LSU lean, but he wouldn’t be the first Louisiana prospect that the Bulldogs’ coaching staff has been able to bring east to Georgia.
