With the “Dead Period” in full effect, there hasn’t been a lot of college football recruiting news of late, but the Bulldawgs made the top-10 list of class of 2021 tight end Gage Wilcox per his Tweet on Sunday afternoon. In addition to Georgia, 5 other SEC programs were in his top schools and include Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, and Tennessee.

Wilcox is a 6-foot-4 and 228 lbs rising junior out of Jefferson High School, Tampa, FL last May. During The Opening Regionals in February, Wilcox ran a 4.80-second 40 and hit a 34.60-inch vertical. He is rated a 4-star prospect by 247Sports as well as Rivals, and Wilcox is considered a top-25 player from The Sunshine State and one of the top-10 TE prospects for 2021.
The Dawgs have 8 scholarship offers out to TEs for 2021 so far and offered Wilcox last year in May. He visited the Georgia campus back in February as well as Florida during that month. His most recent offers were from South Carolina in April followed by Florida State in May, but neither the Gamecocks or Seminoles made his top-10 list. It’s early in the 2021 recruiting race, but it looks like UGA is in the thick of it heading into August.
