McKinnley Jackson is the highest rated undeclared, unsigned 2020 defensive tackle prospect left on the board currently. McKinnley is rated a four-star prospect by 247Sports as well as ESPN and Rivals.
He is expected to take a number of visits in January and then likely announce his decision and sign with the school of his choice on National Signing Day on Wednesday, February 5th.
UGA offered Jackson recently, back on December 12th. So what are the chances that the Bulldogs could add the MS-AL All-Star Game MVP to their 2020 recruiting class to join defensive tackle signees Warren Brinson, Jalen Carter, and Nazir Stackhouse?
While Georgia now has former Ole Miss head coach Matt Luke on its coaching staff and there is a familiarity and relationship with McKinney, he would not be Jackson’s position coach. I think the key for Georgia is to get McKinnley to take a visit to Athens. Jackson has already taken an official to Auburn, on December 14th and he has scheduled official visits to LSU (January 17th), Ole Miss (January 24th), and Texas A&M (January 31st). That doesn’t really leave time to visit Georgia during the contact period in January unless McKinnley does so during the week or doubles up one weekend. As of right now, LSU and Ole Miss look to be the top two schools in contention for the 6-foot-2 and 317 lbs senior out of George County High School in Lucedale, MS, but a lot can change between now and February 5th, 2020.
Whichever program lands Jackson, they will be getting a talented and athletic d-lineman. You can watch McKinnley Jackson‘s most recent highlights by clicking on the video below.
