Sedrick Van Pran is a 2020 four-star offensive guard. The 6-4 305-pound junior plays football at Warren Easton High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. According to the latest 247Sports 2020 Composite rankings, he ranks as the No. 9 OG and the No. 16 prospect in LA. Van Pran currently holds nine offers with the latest coming from Florida on August 16. I expect those 9 offers to double by the end of his junior season. Georgia offered him on June 2, and he was in town for the Austin Peay game. Van Pran’s recruitment is still wide open, and he isn’t in a hurry to make a decision. Below I chat with he four-star about his recruitment and his visit for the game.
Van Pran’s Interview
Q: How is the overall recruiting process going for you so far?
A: “My recruiting is picking up fast.”
Q: What do you think of Georgia?
A: “I think Georgia is great, wonderful atmosphere.”
Q: How hard are they recruiting you? And what are some things they are telling you?
A: ” Georgia has a lot of interest in me. They say things like, “We need to get you here.”
Q: When you say that the coaches need you here, what does that mean to you and how does that make you feel?
A: “I feel great, the University of Georgia needs me…”
Q: What do you think of Kirby Smart?
A: “I like Kirby Smart a lot because he can balance coaching you hard and building you back up.”
Q: Who’s your primary recruiter and what do you think of them?
A: Coach Hankton is my primary recruiter. He’s a good guy that takes care of me.”
Q: What kind of relationship do you have with coach Pittman?
A: “Coach Pittman is my guy! He’s really cool.”
Q: What makes coach Pittman so cool?
A: “He’s very relatable, down to earth guy.”
Q: What are the key factors that will go into your decision?
A: “I will choose a family as my school.”
Q: Any top schools yet? if so who?
A: “I’m weighing my options until my senior year.”
Q: Have you decided when you will commit to a school? If so when?
A: “I plan on committing on my national signing day.”
Q: What did it mean to you to get that offer from Georgia?
A: “The Georgia offer is a huge deal to me. They’re one of the best schools in the country.”
Q: Who went with you to the game and what did they think?
A: My father, and uncle did and they loved it.”
Q: What did you think of the game yesterday and the new recruiting lounge Georgia has?
A: “The game was electric and the recruiting lounge was really nice. There were all sorts of great things I enjoyed.”
