Donell Harris reclassifies to 2020
Booker T. Washington weak-side defensive end Donell Harris has officially reclassified his status and is now a class of 2020 recruit per media sources. Harris had been committed to the University of Miami but announced on his Twitter account back on June 13th that in addition to his intention to reclassify, he would be de-committing from the Hurricanes.
Harris’ announcement came the day after he took an unofficial visit to the University of Georgia on June 12th. The Bulldogs offered the four-star prospect per 247Sports back in April, and in addition to the unofficial visit he recently took to Athens, he also has an official planned. Along with UGA, Harris currently has a total of 23 scholarship offers that include major programs like Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, LSU, and Tennessee to name just a few. His most recent offer is from Georgia’s SEC East rival, South Carolina.
At 6 foot 4, and 210 lbs, Harris will need to add some weight to his frame to be an every-down player in the trenches at WDE in the SEC, but he could come in to UGA and compete at OLB as a freshman as well as play a role as a situational pass rusher as he develops in the weight room. In Georgia’s defense, under its current incarnation, the Dawgs like to employ athletic OLB as a hybrid WDE in certain packages, and Harris definitely has the athleticism to do so.
