Daily Dawg Thread – Class Of 2020 4-Star OT Joshua Braun Commits To The Georgia Football Program – By Matthew Hall

The Georgia Football program and UGA Offensive Line Coach Sam Pittman struck again on Monday evening as the Dawgs landed a commitment from Class of 2020 4-Star OT Joshua Braun of Suwannee High School in Live Oak, Florida. Braun’s father, Mike Braun, broke the news of his son’s commitment to Georgia by way of a Tweet on Twitter.

The 4-Star OT is the 12th commitment for the Georgia Football program for the Class of 2020. With the pledge from Braun in, the Dawgs have once again moved up to the #4 spot in terms of Team Class Rankings after briefly falling to the #5 slot a few short days ago. Braun’s commitment adds another piece to the puzzle for “The Great Wall Of Georgia” offensive linemen that O-Line Coach Sam Pittman has been able to recruit and bring into the program for the Georgia Bulldogs. Pittman and the Georgia coaching staff have previously reeled in Class of 2020 offensive line members 5-Star OT Broderick Jones, 4-Star OT Tate Ratledge, and 4-Star OG Akinola Ogunbiyi prior to Braun’s commitment on Monday night. The Live Oak native’s commitment is also another win for the Georgia Football program in terms of its recruiting battle that has been brewing with Florida Head Coach Dan Mullen and the Gator’s football program. Braun had previously been a 50% lock to play in-state in Gainesville for the Florida Gators per 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions prior to his commitment to the “Red and Black” on Monday night.

Braun fits the prototypical mold of what the Dawgs have been bringing in to fill the ranks on the offensive line as he stands in at 6-6 and 335 pounds. The 4-star “Sunshine State” star is currently rated the #25 overall offensive tackle prospect in the country and the #45 overall player in the state of Florida for the Class of 2020 per 247Sports Composite Rankings. Braun already had an ongoing relationship with UGA Offensive Line Coach Sam Pittman as the O-Line coach had previously attempted to recruit Braun’s brother while at Arkansas. Coincidentally, his brother is Parker Braun who ended up attending Georgia Tech and is an offensive line member there playing for the Yellow Jackets. One can only imagine what it will be like in the Braun family household with one playing for Georgia Tech and now one soon to play for the Georgia Bulldogs football progrm. Such an aforementioned scenario and situation gives new meaning and emphasis to the phrase “A House Divided”. Aside from the newly generated rivalry and who to pull for now in the 4-Star offensive tackle’s home, one thing is for certain: the Georgia Football program’s offensive line for the Class of 2020 just got better. Braun has already been recognized as a top player in the state of Florida as he was an All-State selection there in 2017. He was also named a MaxPreps All-American in that same said year. Look for him to make an impact and provide immediate offensive protection upon his arrival in Athens in the near future. With the good news of Braun’s commitment in to start off the week for the Georgia Football program, there is only one question that now remains: Who will be the next future star on the gridiron to “Commit To The G”?
