SOC: Summer Denigan Named to United Soccer Coaches All-America First Team

University of Georgia redshirt junior midfielder Summer Denigan was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-America First Team, as announced by the organization Friday afternoon.
With the honor, Denigan became just the sixth All-American in program history and joined Stephanie Yarem Ransom (1997) as the Bulldogs’ only First Team honorees. Georgia has now produced an All-American in four of the past five seasons (Mollie Belisle – 2021 Third Team; Abby Boyan – 2022 Third Team; Croix Bethune – 2023 Second Team). Georgia head coach Keidane McAlpine has also now guided 16 players to All-America honors in his career at Washington State, USC, and Georgia.
Earlier this week, Denigan was named the program’s first MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist and was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region First Team.
Denigan put together one of the strongest offensive seasons in program history, ranking third in the SEC with 11 goals, with four of them proving to be match winners along with an equalizer against Kentucky to remain in the SEC Tournament. The team captain’s output made her the program’s first double-digit scorer since Belisle in 2021. The Union, Kentucky native started all 21 matches this season, tallying 1,688 minutes on the field. Along with goals, she led the team in points (23), shots (56), and shots on goal (24).
During the season, Denigan was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week after her winner took down No. 12 North Carolina, while also being named to the TopDrawerSoccer Midseason Top 100 Players List (No. 19).
