“The First Look went so well,” said head coach Courtney Kupets-Carter. “You never know what to expect with so many freshmen competing, especially while running the meet a little bit differently than a normal meet. Starting off on vault, really getting everybody out there, I think overall they did a really good job and it set us in a good place to start off the year with a really high score.”

The GymDogs had a strong start with a 49.075 on vault, led by Haley de Jong’s 9.875 and Jaydah Battle and Amanda Cashman also contributing a 9.825 as well.

The team then posted a staggering 49.625 on bars, with Scott earning a 10 and a total of four Bulldogs reaching a 9.900.

On balance beam, freshman Holly Snyder led the squad with a score of 9.850 as Georgia earned a 49.000 in the event. Cashman and de Jong each finished with a team-high 9.925 on floor, contributing to a 49.300 floor total.

De Jong and Snyder were the Bulldogs two all-around competitors, earning a 39.525 and 39.225 respectively.

Georgia will kick off its season against NC State on Saturday, Jan. 6 at 3:45 p.m. in Stegeman Coliseum. The event will be livestreamed on the SEC Network+. This will mark the fifth time the programs have met, with Georgia winning all four previous competitions. Most recently, the GymDogs defeated the Wolfpack seven years ago on the same date by a 196.875-194.800 result.
