Opening Tip

» Georgia heads to Starkville to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs this Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. CT.

» Georgia has won two-straight games in the series against MSU, including a 62-34 victory in Athens a season ago. Both teams are coming off victories this year — Georgia against Kentucky and Mississippi State at Texas A&M. The State Bulldogs have won four-straight games this season.

» Lady Bulldog fifth-year senior Javyn Nicholson has posted 12 double-doubles during the 2023-24 campaign — tied for the second-highest total in the SEC. She has scored in double figures in all but one game this year.

» Junior guard Asia Avinger is just 12 points away from 1,000 in her career. She has scored 888 points in just three seasons of collegiate basketball.

» Junior guard De’Mauri Flournoy has heated up offensively, scoring in double figures in five-striaght games. She scored a career-high 18 points against Tennessee last week.

» Georgia is coming off its best two offensive performances in SEC play this season. The Lady Bulldogs scored 73 points against Tennessee — the highest against an SEC foe this year — and 72 points against Kentucky — the second-best mark in league play this season.

» Georgia is in its second season under the leadership of Coach ABE. ABE’s successful first year included a NCAA tournament appearance, 22 wins, and a fifth-place finish in the final SEC standings.

» The Lady Bulldogs were the only SEC squad to not have a single player enter the transfer portal this past offseason.

»  Coach ABE’s teams have won 20 or more games in 11-straight seasons, while her 12 NCAA tournament appearances rank third among active SEC coaches, only behind Kim Mulkey (LSU) and Dawn Staley (South Carolina).
