Key Quote:
On today’s game…
“Hats off to Sanford. I was really impressed with the competitiveness of their ball club. Their hitters were really aggressive. I thought the coaching staff did a really good job. Their players kept playing. That easily could have been a walk away game, and they didn’t allow it to be. I thought we came out really in a good place, and we started off the game well with the bats. Kiersten Roose doing what she’s been doing has been really exciting. Up and down the lineup, I thought we just had really good at bats and really did that for most of the night. Just didn’t come through there with a couple of the clutch opportunities to maybe put the game away. The benefit of tonight was we got everybody in. We got a lot of our reserves opportunities that’ll be important for us down the road and for their development and growth.”

Bulldog Football Adds Five Offensive, Defensive Analysts

Georgia football has added three offensive analysts and two defensive analysts in preparation for the coming season.

Former Bulldog two-time All-Southeastern Conference running back Robert Edwards headlines the group of three analysts on offense.  A team captain in 1996 and teammate of now head coach Kirby Smart, Edwards led UGA in rushing in 1997 (908 yards) and 1996 (800) and had most recently served as head coach at his alma mater, Washington County High School, for the last four seasons.  He is joined by Jalen Harris and David Whitlow as the newest offensive analysts.

Harris has spent the last two seasons working for Georgia’s Player Development group after coaching wide receivers at UAB.  Harris played tight end for Auburn during his undergraduate days.  Whitlow came to Athens after coaching wide receivers at Kennesaw State in 2025 and at West Georgia in 2024.  The Alabama State graduate also served on the coaching staffs at Ole Miss and Auburn.  Both will join Edwards as analysts for the offense.

On the other side of the ball, Maurice “Mo” Smith and Gordon Redfield-Gale have been added as defensive analysts.  Smith transferred from Alabama to Georgia when Smart became UGA’s head coach in 2016 and played his final season for the Bulldogs.  Smith had previously served as a defensive student assistant for Georgia.  Redfield-Gale spent two seasons at USC as a defensive analyst after graduating from the institution in 2023.
