Three Georgia football players named to the FWAA Freshman All-America Team.
Redshirt freshman offensive tackle Earnest Greene III, true freshman inside linebacker CJ Allen and true freshman place-kicker Peyton Woodring have all been included on the 32-man team, which boasted six players from the Southeastern Conference.
Greene, a native of Los Angeles, Calif., started all 14 games for the Bulldogs at left tackle during a 13-1 season that concluded with a 63-3 route of No. 5 Florida State in the Capital One Orange Bowl. He helped anchor an offense that averaged 40.1 points per game (fifth nationally) and was part of a line that was named a Joe Moore Award finalist.
Allen, a native of Barnesville, Ga., started the last five games at inside linebacker and finished fifth on the team with 41 stops, including 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack. He was one of the Bulldog signal callers on a defense that allowed just 15.6 points per game (fifth nationally).
Woodring, a native of Lafayette, La., ranked sixth nationally in scoring (third among kickers) and his 134 points ranks third best in school history for a kicker in a single season. Drilling all 71 of his PATs, Woodring set the Bulldog freshman record for most points kicking, surpassing the former mark set by Blair Walsh in 2008 by 39 points.
