WBB: Georgia fell to the Missouri Tigers, 69-57, Thursday evening at Mizzou Arena.
Javyn Nicholson scored in double figures for the 18th-straight game with 10 points and seven boards, while De’Mauri Flournoy added 14 and Taniyah Thompson pitched in 12. Missouri shot 53 percent from the field, while Georgia shot just 34 percent. Missouri also out rebounded Georgia by a 34-30 margin.
Haley Frank led all scorers with 24 points, five assists and four rebounds. The Lady Bulldogs are now 10-8 overall and 1-4 in Southeastern Conference action.
Georgia missed its first four shots in the game and finished 4-of-15 from the field in the first quarter as Missouri led 18-12 after one. Frank led the Tigers in the opening half, scoring 15 points, guiding her team to a 37-26 halftime advantage.
Missouri came out of the break and built its largest lead of the game at 49-34 with just over five minutes remaining in the third.
Although Georgia outscored the Tigers 16-10 in the fourth, Missouri stayed in control the rest of the way in the 69-57 win.
Georgia returns home to host Ole Miss at 1 p.m. ET Sunday at Stegeman Coliseum.
