BSB: UGA Clinches South Carolina Series with 3-1 Saturday Win

The fourth-ranked Georgia baseball team defeated South Carolina, 3-1, to win the series Saturday afternoon in front of a crowd of 3,285 fans at Foley Field.

- Junior Dylan Vigue started on the mound for Georgia (22-6, 6-2 SEC) and left with the bases loaded, one out and down 1-0. Sophomore Paul Farley came in relief in the first, got out of that jam and ultimately allowed only one hit with no runs and four strikeouts across 4.2 innings.
- Senior Matt Scott (5-0) entered in the sixth and closed the game, allowing just one hit with five strikeouts for the win. South Carolina’s Amp Phillips (2-3) suffered the loss.
- South Carolina (13-15, 1-7 SEC) struck first in the first frame with one run from a bases-loaded walk.
- The Bulldogs answered at the start of the second inning as sophomore Henry Allen (2-4, RBI) hit a home run and his ninth of the season, putting Georgia on the board, 1-1.
- Sophomore Rylan Lujo (2-4, 2 RBI) gave Georgia a 3-1 lead in the sixth inning with his fourth homer of the season. This was his second long ball in three games.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 11 Georgia Bulldogs clinched the series against Kentucky with an 11-1 (5 inn.) win on Saturday afternoon at the John Cropp Stadium. Georgia improves to 26-8 (5-3) on the season while the Wildcats move to 21-15 (1-10).

- RHP Addisen Fisher made the start in the circle, going 4.0 innings with four hits, one earned run, one walk and three strikeouts. LHP Ada Little pitched the final inning with a walk and a punch-out.
- Natalie Ray – now 3-4 in the series – blasted a grand slam in the top of the first inning to give the Bulldogs the lead to tally her 100th career hit. She later sent an RBI single to left field in the top of the third inning. She ended the day 2-3 with a career-best five RBIs.
- Georgia added four more runs in the fourth inning before tacking on two runs in the top of the fifth inning to extend the lead to 10.
- Kentucky recorded an RBI single in the bottom of the first frame to get on the board.
- The two results of this series mark the first time since 2018 (at #7 Tennessee) that Georgia has recorded two run-rule wins in a conference series. More, this is the first time since 2015 that the Bulldogs have opened the series with two run-rule wins (Arkansas in 2015).
