Opening Tip

» Georgia welcomes in-state opponent Georgia State to Stegeman Coliseum for a 6 p.m. tip on Thursday.

» The Lady Bulldogs are off to a 3-0 start for the fourth time in the last five years. Georgia has held each of its first three opponents below 40 percent in shooting and has led in rebounds in each contest.

» Georgia and Georgia State have a long history that dates back to 1977, but this will be the first meeting between the two programs since 2020. The Lady Bulldogs own an 18-10 lead in the all-time series and are riding a 17-game win streak against the Panthers.

» Georgia is led by an impressive freshman class. Lady Bulldog rookies have accounted for 44 percent of the team’s scoring so far this year.

» Freshman guard Trinity Turner is off to one of the best starts in program history. She has scored in double figures in each of her first three games — the first Lady Bulldog freshman to do so since National Freshman of the Year Tasha Hunphrey in 2004.

» Mia Woolfolk led all Georgia rookies with 18 points and 13 rebounds in her debut against NC Central. It is just the third time in program history a freshman has recorded a double-double in her debut. Janet Harris in 1981 and Christi Thomas in 2000 are the only other two to accomplish that feat.

» Junior forward Amiya Evans posted double-doubles in each of the first two games. Against Houston, she scored a career-high 14 points to go with 10 boards.

» The 96 points scored by Georgia against NC Central were the most for the team in a game in four seasons. The Lady Bulldogs tallied 97 points against Gardner-Webb to open the 2021-22 campaign.

» Georgia is in its third season under the leadership of Coach ABE. The team welcomes back six letterwinners to go with six newcomers.
