Through UGA’s first four games, junior running back D’Andre Swift has carried the ball 49 times for 388 yards and 3 touchdowns. Swift is averaging nearly 8 yards per carry (7.918 YPC) and 12.25 carries per game. With 8 regular-season games remaining on the Bulldogs’ schedule, if Swift stays on pace, he’ll eclipse the 1,000-yard mark for Georgia with an estimated 1,113 yards.

It won’t be the first time that Swift has broken a 1,000 yards in a season. Last year, for 2018, Swift rushed for 1,049 yards and 10 touchdowns in 14 games on 163 carries.

But Swift has already reached one milestone in his collegiate career. During Saturday’s game versus Notre Dame on Saturday, September 21st, Swift eclipsed the 2,000-yard career rushing mark.

He currently has amassed a total of 2,055 yards in 33 games at Georgia, which puts him 13th all-time in school history. If Swift hits the 1,113-yard mark this season, he’ll move into the top-10 in all-time in career rushing yardage for Bulldog running backs, and he has the potential to bump Knowshon Moreno from his No. 7 spot on the list.

Swift came to the University of Georgia as part of the Bulldogs 2017 recruiting class, signing out of St. Joseph’s Prep School in Philadelphia, PA. He played in all of Georgia’s 15 games as a true freshman for the 2017 season and started versus Auburn during the regular season. Swift was the third leading rusher for the Dawgs with 618 yards and his performance earned him freshman All-SEC honors.

The Dawgs and D’Andre Swift have a bye this weekend but will travel up to Knoxville, TN next Saturday on October 5th to take on the Tennessee Volunteers.
