D’Andre Swift, one of the top running backs for the class of 2017, has set a date of September 1st to announce his commitment decision.
The 5 foot 9, 194 lbs running back out of St. Joseph’s High School in Philadelphia, PA has offers from over 23 major FBS college football programs, but back in May, he narrowed down his top schools to five, which included Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia and Penn State.
The most likely place Swift could land is with Georgia, which has been blessed with a plethora of talent at the running back position over the last number of years including Todd Gurely, Nick Chubb and Sony Michel to name three. The Bulldawgs have already received one verbal commitment from a top 10 running back for 2017 from Toneil Carter, a 5 foot 11, 197 lbs back out of Houston, TX from Langham Creek High School.
If D’Andre Swift does indeed pick Georgia on September 1st, he along with Carter would give the Bulldogs another talented influx to continue on the rich tradition at running back with the program.
Georgia’s current roster for 2016 at running back includes two junior rushers who have both put up 1,000 yard plus seasons in Nick Chubb and Sony Michel as well as veteran, senior tailback Brendon Douglas, sophomore Shaquery Wilson, redshirt freshman Tae Crowder and new freshmen Elijah Holyfield and Brian Herrien.
The first week in September and Labor Day weekend could be a big one for the Dawgs.
DawgDaddy Cannot disagree DD. Getting two top 10 backs like Carter and Swift for 2017 with who is currently on the roster plus the talent that is coming out in 2018 that the Dawgs have a chance to land …. whoa nelly!
I want him in Athens. He and Carter would make a great 1-2 punch.
