Sepp Straka and Russell Henley have each captured wins on Tour this year as well as multiple top 10 finishes. Following the Players Championship this past weekend and just ahead of the Masters come April 10, the two former Bulldogs are No. 2 and 3, respectively, in the FedEx Cup Standings while Henley ranks seventh and Straka ranks 11th in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Before the most recent tournament at TPC Sawgrass over the weekend, Straka was atop the standings while Henley was No. 2. Straka, the 2x Olympian, representing Austria, and Ryder Cup team member, clinched victory at the American Express in mid-January. Henley claimed his first victory since 2022 with a win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational just a little over a week ago.

Henley’s dramatic win at Bay Hill came to fruition as he eagled 16. The American Collin Morikawa led the bulk of the final round, but a bogey at 14 would put him back at even on the day and a stroke ahead overall. From down two, even on the day, to with the lead by one, Henley’s chip-in eagle sealed the weekend as he walked away with the red cardigan and trophy.

Henley’s wife Teil alongside their three kids stormed the 18th green at Bay Hill following the tournament-sealing putt, making one of the tenderest moments of the 2025 PGA Tour season thus far. Henley’s win was his fifth Tour victory in his 12-year career.

The next highest ranked Dawg on Tour is Harris English who is No. 21 in the FedEx Cup Standings and No. 39 in the world. He secured a win at the Farmers Insurance Open the week after Straka’s victory at the American Express.

Needless to say, former Georgia golfers are off to a red hot start in 2025.
