Well boys and girls, the Cocktail Party is here. 2020 has been very strange year, and even the football season has had it’s moments so far, but at 3:30PM on CBS, when the Dawgs take on the Gator for SEC East supremacy, all will seem right with the world!
UGA comes into this game missing key pieces like Richard LeCounte and potentially Jordan Davis on defensive. In late breaking news, it appears that George Pickens isn’t playing for Georgia today. Truthfully it will be a somewhat of a surprise to see who all is available for the Dawgs offensively. Will Kenny McIntosh be able to play? Does speedster Arian Smith make his long awaited debut for Georgia? It will be interesting to see how the offense as a whole reacts to the lackluster performance versus Kentucky.
The Florida game has historically been where the Dawgs right the ship in the past 3 seasons. Jake Fromm was a Gator killer, and despite the somewhat over the top vitriol being thrown at Kirby Smart and Stetson Bennett IV for the current offensive woes, there are indications that Georgia is close to putting it all together on that side of the ball. There is no mistaking that Georgia is going to lean on the offensive line and the running game in this contest. However, even with inclement weather a possibility, the Dawgs must take advantage of Stetson Bennett IV’s strengths and get productivity out of the passing game when they do take their shots.
If Georgia wins this game, it won’t be in spite of Bennett IV. The Mailman is capable of delivering the good for the Dawgs and continuing the collision course with Alabama in the SEC Championship. Todd Monken and Stetson Bennett IV must put everything together and mesh today. If they do, it will quiet the irrational hate. Even if it’s for a brief period of time.
