Georgia is a very banged up football team right now. Offense and defense alike has injury concerns. What’s unique about Georgia’s situation is that some of the injuries were sustained in the bye week and brought into the Kentucky game, some where sustained during the game, and one was sustained once the Dawgs got home. Let’s start with the ladder first.

As first reported by Dawgs247, Richard LeCounte was injured in a motorcycle accident Saturday evening. There are not a ton of details on the situation but it appears that LeCounte will recover fully and hopefully his injuries are limited to the concussion and bruised ribs that were listed in the report. If LeCounte has to miss the matchup next week against Florida, it’s going to be problematic with a slew of other injuries on the defensive side of the ball.

Jordan Davis, Lewis Cine, Quay Walker, Tyrique Stevenson, and Julian Rochester each left the game with injury for Georgia during the Kentucky game. Monty Rice has been banged up since the week of the Alabama game and Quay Walker was playing a lot to spell him until he went down with his injury. Cine, Stevenson, and Rochester seemed to have minor injuries and I wouldn’t be shocked if they’re available for the Cocktail Party. Jordan Davis was in a sling and Quay Walker had a neck injury.

Also, George Pickens and Kenny McIntosh were not available for the Kentucky game and did not travel with the team to Lexington. Even though Georgia moved the ball well at times, but the Dawg offense could use their full complement of player makers at his point in the year and not having explosive players like Pickens and McIntosh doesn’t help matters in the least. Having had the week off essentially, it’s likely that both are back for Florida.

The SEC East is going to be on the line next week. Georgia must play a complete game and getting as many healthy bodies to Jacksonville as possible will be a part of that.
