Any offers to 2022 prospects this late in the recruiting cycle should be considered quite significant. When a running back is offered at this stage in the recruiting cycle, you know that Georgia is very serious. TreVonte’ Citizen, a 4-Star running back out of Lake Charles, Louisiana, received an offer from Dell McGee and the Georgia Bulldogs on Friday.
https://twitter.com/Tre_Citizen1/status/1378005005240782849?s=20Running back is typically a position that Georgia targets early on in the recruiting process. McGee and company tend to have a group of 4 to 5 prospects they intently focus on. However, an out-of-state talent like Citizen could not be denied. Upon watching film of TreVonte’ Citizen, it’s easy to see why the Dawgs pulled the trigger on the offer. Citizen has slashing, downhill running style. The Louisiana native is decisive and devasting with his cuts and possesses game-changing breakaway speed. At 6’0″ 220, Citizen isn’t a finesse back either. No, no. On tape, you can routinely see the electrifying back-breaking tackles and dragging defenders for extra yardage.
This is a development to pay attention to in the 2022 cycle. Georgia has 1 running back committed in the class in Jordan James. James is a 4-Star do-it-all type back out of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The Dawgs will be looking to add another back, as they typically do every other recruiting cycle. Kaytron Allen, Tevin White, and Branson Robinson are all on the board for the Dawgs now. Robinson did pick up an offer from Clemson, making the 4-Star from Mississippi’s recruitment much more interesting. TreVonte’ Citizen is every bit as talented as the previously 3 mentioned. Keep an eye out to see if Georgia ends up as an official visit location for Citizen. White and Robinson will most definitely be making their way to Athens this summer and, or fall. Time will tell if Allen and Citizen will follow suit.
