Josh Pate of 247 Sports was gracious enough to drop in for a special bonus episode of the RBU Podcast. Pate is the National Director of Video for 247 Sports and is a rising star in the national sports media are building his show The Late Kick into a powerhouse YouTube program. Pate is not afraid to give hot takes on the college football world, particularly the SEC.
I was able to ask Josh about the issue of player development in the Georgia Football program. For some reason, despite countless successful players being produced into the NFL and 2 National Championship caliber teams faltering only to the greatest dynasty the college football world has ever known, people like to knock Kirby Smart for not being able to develop talented recruits. Pate gives his opinion on this and talks about what it will take to get over the hump versus Alabama.
The historic 2018 recruiting class and their “development” are discussed and the Georgia current and future QB situation. Also, Pate and I discuss the early success of true freshmen such as Adonai Mitchell and Brock Bowers and the overall readiness of freshmen in today’s college landscape.
