On a slow December Monday, why not watch the young man that will likely be the Georgia starting quarterback in less than 2 years? That’s right, Brock Vandagriff and the Prince Avenue Christian School Wolverines are in the state championship today versus the Trinity Christian Lions. PACS and Vandagriff are trying to pull of the fairy tale ended to 2020 by having the 5-Star quarterback, committed and signed to the biggest program in his home state, and coached by his father win it all and immediately head to Athens to participate in Peach Bowl prep and early enroll with the Dawgs.

Vandagriff is playing a little banged up, as most are this time of the year, but you wouldn’t be able to tell it when watching him play. Vandagriff has been dominant in the playoffs and has ran through the GHSA Single A Private bracket the way a bona fide 5-Star talent should. In the playoffs alone, Vandagriff and company have outscored their opponents 193 to 37, or an average of 48 to 9. This run has included impressive beatdowns over perennial powerhouses Eagle’s Landing Christian and Wesleyan School. Judging of of results versus common opponents through the year, which is not an exact science, but something I find helpful, Vandagriff and his teammates should be able to capture the state championship today.

You can watch Vandagriff’s last high school performance before becoming a Dawg on GPB at 3:30pm. Undoubtedly Georgia is hoping that everything goes as planned this offseason and that JT Daniels is the starter for the Dawgs against Clemson on September 4th next year to kickoff the 2021 season. However, Vandagriff would see to be the heir apparent. Vandagriff certainly has all the hype in the world surround him and his skills. A young man with a football IQ as high as Vandagriff’s, being the son of a coach, getting the benefit of repping a year behind and learning from JT Daniels could be extremely beneficial for Georgia’s future. I’m told by well placed sources that Daniels is a football savant and his abilities to process and retain information and execute concepts is tremendous! A player and person with the maturity and talent that Vandagriff possesses getting to soak that up for a season would be ideal for the Dawgs and could mean big time production when his time comes.
