Deandre Baker, a junior defensive back out of Miami Northwestern High School, was asked in a recent interview who the toughest wide receivers are for him and his unit, Baker said:
“Terry Godwin and Mecole(Hardman) has become a receiver, so he’s pretty good too. They are quick twitch guys with a lot of agility. “
“J.J. (Jeremiah Holloman), he’s a big receiver, very physical, he could definitely help us in a game. Mecole (Hardman), very fast guy, similar to Isaiah (Mackenzie), they both should help us this year.”
When asked about his relationship with former defensive back Mecole Hardman, Baker replied:
“It’s very competitive with me and Mecole.”
Baker even confessed that there is “a little bit” of trash talking between him and Hardman.
Despite Kirby Smart’s insistence that Mecole Hardman’s time on offense is still an experiment, he seems to be settling into the wide receiver position. Baker even said in the interview below that Hardman “has become a receiver.”
