The Lady Bulldogs started off the game slow but were able to pick it up in the second half and stay undefeated with a record of (2-0).

 
 
The Lady Dogs came out of the first quarter with the lead but saw starters Haley Clark and Halle Washington get in a bit of foul trouble, as both earned two.
 
 
Washington and Clark were able to play a much cleaner second quarter and went into the half with only the two fouls.
 
 
However, the Bulldogs scoring struggles continued as they only scored 10 points in the second quarter and went into the half trailing the Mercer 30-24.
 
 
The Bulldogs may have been struggling offensively but there were some positives for the Lady Dogs, in that they were outrebounding the Mercer Bears 24-19 going into the break.
 
 
They also played a solid defensive first half with five steals, three blocks, and held the Bears to a 33.3 field goal percentage.
 
 
The Lady Dogs pulled it all together in the third quarter, where they outscored their opponents 27-17.
 
 
The Lady Dogs scored more in the third quarter than they did in the whole first half and that offensive breakout could be attributed to the Bulldogs ability to rebound, work out of the fast break, and cause turnovers.
 
 
The Lady Dogs ran a much more fast-paced offense in the second half and the Mercer Bears simply could not run with the Dogs.
 
 
Their dominance in the third quarter continued into the fourth quarter and they were able to pull off the comeback and earn their second win of the season with a final score of 72-64.
 
 
The Lady Dogs offensive second half was truly outstanding as they outscored their own first half 48-24.
 
 
Senior Pachis Roberts and Sophomore Caliya Robinson both played a huge role in the Lady Dogs comeback victory over the Mercer Bears.
 
 
Pachis Roberts, who almost earned her second double-double of the season and of her career, led the team in rebounds, assists, and steals and finished with 19 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.
 
 
Sophomore Caliya Robinson had an outstanding game as well in the Lady Dogs comeback victory as she was a dominant force in the post for her team in the second half in which she had 19 points and she finished the game as the team’s leading scorer with 24 points overall.
 
 
Robinson was also a dominant force on defense for the Lady Dogs as she led the team in blocks with four.
 
 
The Lady Dogs are playing outstanding basketball at the moment in head coach Joni Taylor’s absence and will look to build on their two-game winning streak on Wednesday when they face the BYU Cougars in Stegeman Coliseum at 7 p.m.
