Two of Georgia’s greatest teams ever registered back-to-back shutouts of the Wildcats, as the Bulldogs 1980 national champions won 27-0 in Lexington in 1980, and 21-0 in Athens in 1981.

Georgia’s national champions of 1942 opened the season against Kentucky in Louisville, and the Bulldogs hung on for a 7-6 victory en route to an 11-1 record and Rose Bowl title.

College Football Hall of Fame great Jake Scott had one of his finest performances ever in a 35-14 win over Kentucky in 1968, returning two interceptions for touchdowns.

Kentucky’s iconic men’s basketball program has captured eight national championships (1948, 49, 51, ‘58, ‘78, ‘96, ‘98, ‘12), the second-most all-time, trailing only UCLA’s 11.

When Kentucky went 10-1 in 1977, the Wildcats put together an incredible month of October – defeating Penn State In State College, LSU in Baton Rouge and Georgia in Athens.

One of the greatest athletes in Wildcats history is gymnast Jenny Hansen, who won the NCAA All-Around national championships in three consecutive seasons, 1993-1995.
