The third-ranked University of Georgia equestrian team takes competition to College Station, Texas, to for a Southeastern Conference matchup against. No. 6 Texas A&M on Saturday. 

The Bulldogs finished the fall portion of their 2019-20 campaign 4-2 overall, 1-2 in SEC play.

The Aggies hold a 2-3 standing, matching Georgia’s record in conference competition.

 

 

 

 

The National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) announced the first set of NCEA event rankings at the close of the fall. Georgia’s Fences and Flat squads claimed the second-ranked spots for both events. The Bulldogs’ western events, Reining and Horsemanship, rank eighth and ninth, respectively. 

Texas A&M stands at second in Horsemanship, fourth in Fences, sixth Flat, and ninth in Reining.

Georgia fell short to Texas A&M, 10-8, in a comeback effort on the Bulldogs’ home footing in October. Sophomore Sara Lewis highlighted the meet earning her first career Most Outstanding Performance honor.

 

 

 

 

The Aggies closed out the fall losing to top-ranked Auburn, 11-9.

The Bulldogs bring competition back to Bishop, Ga., hosting the undefeated Auburn Tigers on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. at the UGA Equestrian Complex.
