Georgia equestrian team members Bailey Anderson and Emma Mandarino have each earned SEC Rider of the Month honors for October.
Mandarino won the award for her rides in Equitation Over Fences, marking the first monthly honor of her career. Anderson earned the award for Horsemanship, the second of her career.
Mandarino is 3-0 on the season in Equitation Over Fences after adding two wins in October. The junior captain from Bedminster, New Jersey defeated her conference opponent from then-No. 1 Texas A&M by 13 points to earn her first-career Most Outstanding Performance (MOP) honor. Both her rides scored an 82, including a win on the road at TCU to defeat her opponent by two points.
Anderson holds a perfect record in Horsemanship so far this season and has earned three-straight MOP honors for rides. The senior from Fort Worth, Texas edged her opponent from Texas A&M by two points and earned MOP honors on the road with an event-high score of 74 at TCU.
Anderson, Mandarino and the top-ranked Bulldogs are set to face No. 8 South Carolina this afternoon (Friday, Nov. 3rd) at 1:00 p.m. at the UGA Equestrian Complex. Admission is free.
