Bailey Anderson has been named the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) February Rider of the Month in Horsemanship. This is the second NCEA Rider of the Month honor of her career and she is the first Georgia equestrian to receive the honor this season.
The sophomore native of Fort Worth, Texas, finished the month of February with an unblemished 4-0 record in Horsemanship. She earned two MOP honors with a score of 74.5 or better in three of her four competitions.
Her first win was against No. 8 South Carolina with an MOP earning and event high score of 76.5. The next weekend, picked up the 75.5-74 win against No. 1 Auburn.
The team had a week off before hosting a double-header with No. 10 Kansas State and No. 8 Fresno State. Her largest margin of victory this month came in a 74.5-70 win against No. 10 Kansas State, with another MOP honor. She kept her momentum going, as the next day she picked up the win against Fresno State with a score of 73.
Anderson and the Georgia equestrian team will travel to Las Cruces, N.M. to take on New Mexico State March 5. Competition is slated to begin at noon ET.
