ATHENS, Ga. — The defending SEC Champion Georgia equestrian team has received the No. 1 seed for this year’s championship set to take place March 30-31 in Blythewood, South Carolina.
The Bulldogs finished regular competition with a 9-1 overall record and 5-1 mark in SEC action.
For the SEC Championship, Auburn has received the No. 2 seed with Texas A&M checking in at No. 3, followed by South Carolina at No. 4.
Seeding for the SEC Equestrian Championships is determined by conference winning percentage at the conclusion of a six-meet conference regular season schedule for each team, during which each squad faces every SEC foe home and away.
In the semifinal round of competition on Friday, March 30, the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds will face off in the morning session, followed by the No. 1 and No. 4 seeds squaring off in the afternoon session. The two losing teams will meet in a consolation round on Saturday, March 31. The two winning teams from the semifinals will then meet in the finals to determine the SEC Champion.
