Lauren Garmon (Reining) has been named Southeastern Conference September Rider of the Month. This is the first SEC Rider of the Month award for Garmon. She was named 2014-15 SEC Rider of the Year for Reining.

Garmon finished the month of September with a 1-0 record after Georgia’s meet against Texas A&M. In that meet Garmon outscored her opponent 74-73, receiving the highest score of the event and earning MVP honors. Garmon’s point was the only one scored for Georgia in Reining against the Aggies. Garmon helped the No. 1 Bulldogs edge the No. 7 Aggies 10-9 in the conference opener for both teams.

Garmon and the No. 1 Georgia equestrian team will host No. 6 Oklahoma State next Friday Oct. 16 with competition slated to start at 2 p.m.
