ATHENS, Ga. — After leading her team to back-to-back Southeastern Conference Championships, University of Georgia equestrian head coach Meghan Boenig has been named SEC Coach of the Year for the fourth consecutive year.

Georgia had a rider named Rider of the Year in every event. Maddy Darst was named SEC Equitation Over Fences Rider of the Year, while Addyson Cord (Equitation on the Flat), Bailey Anderson (Horsemanship), and Graysen Stroud (Reining) were named Co-Rider of the Year in their respective events.

Additionally, seven Bulldogs claimed 10 spots on All-SEC Teams.

Darst, a sophomore from Lebanon, Ohio, was named Rider of the Year in Equitation Over Fences with a team-high 11 wins in the event. She posted the highest score of all Georgia riders with a 90 in Fences against South Carolina. She earned three Most Outstanding Performance honors and national recognition as a two-time NCEA Rider of the Month.

Similarly to Darst, Cord was named Rider of the Year in Equitation on the Flat with a team-high 11 wins. The senior captain scored a season-high 89 at Auburn in Flat and earned two MOP honors for her rides this season. A native of Loomis, California, Cord was also named to the All-Championship Team at the SEC Championship, and earned Equitation on the Flat Rider of the Month honors from the conference in September.

Anderson earned seven MOP honors in her nine wins this season. The senior from Fort Worth, Texas holds the top three Horsemanship scores on the team and notched a career-high 80 at Fresno State. She earned SEC Rider of the Month honors in October and March.

Stroud rode to a 9-1-1 record in Reining for the season. The junior picked up an MOP honor in the finals of the SEC Championship against Auburn and was named to the All-Championship team for Reining. Additionally, the Snohomish, Washington native scored a season-high 75 at South Carolina.

Earning All-SEC accolades were Darst (Equitation Over Fences and Equitation on the Flat), Cord (Equitation Over Fences and Equitation on the Flat), sophomore Grace Bridges (Equitation on the Flat), Anderson (Horsemanship), Stroud (Horsemanship and Reining), and sophomore Annabeth Payne (Reining). Jordan Carpenter was named to the Reining SEC All-Freshman Team.

The Bulldogs will compete for the program’s seventh national title at the NCEA National Championship at the Extraco Event Center in Waco, Texas April 18-21.
