The top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs will face their third and final SEC opponent for the fall portion of their schedule on Friday, November 10 as the team travels to face the No. 3 Auburn Tigers. The meet is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. CT at the Auburn University Equestrian Center.

 

The Bulldogs improved to 4-0 on the season with a 2-0 mark in Southeastern Conference action after riding to a 14-6 victory over then-No. 8 South Carolina last week.

Following the meet against South Carolina, Georgia riders swept MOP honors. Sophomore Grace Bridges earned the first MOP honor of her career after scoring a 90 in Equitation on the Flat. Fellow sophomore, Maddy Darst, rode to an event-high score of 90 to earn the honor in Equitation Over Fences. Junior Graysen Stroud took home MOP honors for her ride in Horsemanship, while sophomore Annabeth Payne claimed the honors for Reining.

Georgia’s Equitation Over Fences squad has jumped to a 3-0-1 record, while the Bulldogs are 3-1 in Equitation on the Flat for an overall Hunt Seat record of 3-0-1. The Reiners and Horsemanship riders both have perfect 4-0 records.

Bailey Anderson and Emma Mandarino have each earned SEC Rider of the Month honors for October. Mandarino won the award for her rides in Equitation Over Fences, marking the first monthly honor of her career. Anderson earned the award for Horsemanship, the second of her career. Additionally, Mandarino was named NCEA Standout Student-Athlete of the Month for October.

Auburn currently sits at 2-1 on the season with a 0-1 mark in the SEC. Most recently, the Tigers rode to a 9-9 tie against the Aggies of Texas A&M, but fell in raw score, 1520-1335.5, in College Station.

Last season, Georgia defeated Auburn four times, including two postseason wins. Tied at eight points each with three rides remaining, Georgia defeated Auburn, 10-9, to claim the SEC Championship Title. A few weeks later at the NCEA National Championship, Georgia rode to a 9-7 victory over the Tigers to advance to the championship finals.
