Allowing only one point in each event, the No.2-ranked Bulldogs rode to a 12-4 victory over No. 1-ranked Texas A&M at the UGA Equestrian Complex on Friday afternoon.

 
Bailey Anderson took home Most Outstanding Performance honors for her ride, making that her second straight of the season. Emma Mandarino also earned the honor for her ride Equitation Over Fences.
 
 
“They just came out with such good energy, and that’s what we’ve been talking about, is setting the pace, maintaining the pace, learning to ride in that atmosphere,” head coach Meghan Boenig said. “Certainly looking at that scoreboard, you have to be very happy about that domination. Holding A&M to one point in every single event, and showing that depth everywhere is incredible. That doesn’t negate that we have work to do tomorrow and need to continue to build, but great day.”
 
 
Georgia took an early lead in Equitation Over Fences, 2-1. Senior captain Addyson Cord fell to the Aggies’ Murphy 77-80, respectively. Sophomore Sydney Hutchins claimed the first point of the day for Georgia with a 78 over Texas A&M Alex Desiderio’s score of 67. Sophomores Maddy Darst and Ali Tritschler both tied their opponents to push two points while senior captain Emma Mandarino headlined the event with an 82 on Roman, besting her opponent to give Georgia the lead.
 
 
Payton Anderson, Bailey Anderson, and Graysen Stroud took three points for Georgia in Horsemanship to extend the lead to 5-2. Georgia gave up one point to the Aggies’ Bailey Cook. Madison Anger tied Texas A&M’s Avery Ellis to push the point and conclude the event.
 
 
Georgia snagged four points in Equitation on the Flat bringing the lead to 9-3 at the conclusion of Hunt Seat competition. In her first collegiate ride, freshman Isabelle Heckler fell short of the Aggies’ Peddicord, 67-58. Sydney Hutchins, Maddy Darst, and Addyson Cord secured the next three points for Georgia. In a ride dedicated to her mother’s fight against breast cancer, Grace Bridges scored a 65 to win out the discipline and seal the victory for the Bulldogs.
 
 
With the six-point advantage going into Reining, Georgia took three points in the event, allowing only one point to the Aggies’ Most Outstanding Performance rider, Madison Bohman. Sophomores Annabeth Payne and Julia Spreng notched two points for Georgia along with Junior Graysen Stroud. Freshman Jordan Carpenter tied Texas A&M’s Haley Franc to push the remaining point.
 
 
The meet served as a “Pink Meet” with athletes dedicating their rides to anyone affected by cancer.
 
 
Georgia returns to competition on Friday, October 20 when they travel to No.6-ranked TCU.
