Georgia equestrian senior Sydney Beasley has earned a spot on the SEC Community Service Team.
Beasley has been a selfless, active member of the Bulldog community throughout her time in Athens. She is a vital part of the team’s philanthropic efforts, helping with and organizing over 550 hours of community service.
She donates to the Athens Area homeless shelter a couple times a month and organizes food drives throughout the year. Additionally, she assembles hygiene kits for the Women’s Shelter and for Athens Nurses Clinic. She is involved with Relay for Life and the Special Olympics.
Beasley also volunteers at Butterfly Dreams Farm, a therapeutic riding center for those with special needs. Beasley’s kind heart, warm spirit, and love for horses are the perfect match for these riders as she helps grow and nurture their love of riding and connection with the horses.
The Hopkins, South Carolina native will be graduating Cum Laude with a degree in exercise and sport science and plans to get her master’s in nursing so she can continue to help and serve others.
The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 21 league sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.
