EQUESTRIAN: UGA Ranked Second in NCEA Preseason Poll

The UGA equestrian team will enter the 2017-18 season as the second-ranked squad nationally, as announced by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association selection committee on Tuesday.

 
Georgia comes in at No. 2, just behind conference rival and defending national champion Texas A&M. All four Southeastern Conference teams rank among the nation’s top 10 with Auburn selected third and South Carolina checking in at No. 7.
 
 
Georgia returns two All-Americans from the 2016-17 SEC Champions and NCEA Reserve Champions squad, including senior Bailey Anderson and junior Graysen Stroud.
 
 
Georgia will host its annual Red and Black scrimmage on Friday, Sept. 22 at 4 p.m. at the UGA Equestrian Complex. The 2017 SEC Championship team will also be honored with a ring ceremony at the conclusion of the competition.
 
 
The 2017-18 campaign will officially begin on the road as Georgia travels to Fresno State. The two Bulldog teams will square off on Friday, September 29.
 
 
The 2018 SEC Championship will be held March 30-31 in Blythewood, South Carolina. The season will conclude April 18-21 at the NCEA National Championship in Waco, Texas.
