Georgia Eric Stokes, Jr. has high praise for fellow defensive backs, safeties Richard LeCounte and J.R. Reed in his post-practice player interview on Tuesday. Also, in a funny moment, about 1:10 into the video, Stokes in a generally positive individual and was asked what he had to be asked to draw out a negative comment.

“Negative? Got to be something to do food. Other than that, I try to be a positive person,” said Stokes. “I would easily say I hate broccoli…”

Getting back to football, Stokes breaks down the challenge of the matchups for the Georgia secondary going up against the LSU offense and wide receiving corps in the SEC Championship game.

What do you think the matchups in the secondary look like for Georgia against LSU?

“They match up really good. I know they have some really good wide receivers out there. They’ve got two with over 1,000 yards, and they have some people coming back. They call mismatches any and everywhere, so we’ve just got to do our best with matching up with them. We’ve got the talent and everything, so now we’ve got to go out there and do our assigned man. We’ve got to lock in and keep watching film, like we are right now.”

Do you believe the secondary can cover LSU better than any other team in the country?

“We believe we’re the best people out there. We believe we’re the best DB core, and always we all have to have the confidence that we can go up against anybody, especially as a DB because you’re out there on your own. Without confidence, it’s pretty hard to play.”
