[su_spacer size=”40″] Bauta was asked if there was any extra pressure when he is working with the ones versus the twos and threes:I think the biggest thing to do is not to focus on yourself selfishly and not to get too caught up in the hype of the quarterback competition. Just focus one day at a time, one play at a time. I think that is the best way to go about it.

[su_spacer size=”40″] Bauta was asked if it was going to be difficult to get into any kind of rhythm having to work with a different offensive line and center, a different group of players each day:No. I wouldn’t say its pressure. I just think you have to go out there every day with the same attitude whether it’s the ones, twos, or threes. You have to produce and move the ball, get guys on the right page, and make sure everyone is doing their job … ones, twos, or threes. There’s no difference.

[su_spacer size=”40″] Bauta was asked if he took any extra time preparing since he was competing for the starting quarterback job:I don’t think so. As long as you are doing your part and everyone else is, as long as the offense is moving, running the right plays, running the right routes, offensive line is set in the right protection, you should get the same result most of the time.

[su_spacer size=”40″] Bauta was asked his opinion on some fans’ perceptions that it doesn’t matter who the starting quarterback is since they can hand the ball off to Nick Chubb or one of the other Bulldawg running backs:For me personally, I haven’t changed a thing since I’ve got here. Every day I go out there and try to be the best quarterback I can be.

[su_spacer size=”40″] Bauta was asked if he had done anything to separate himself in the quarterback race:Having a stable of running backs like that is a huge help because you start doing play action and guys will bite up on the ball a little more; but in order to have a balanced offense, you need to be able to run and pass.

[su_spacer size=”40″] The quarterback race is certainly going to be one of the hottest position battles to follow this fall camp between Bauta and redshirt sophomore Brice Ramsey as well as the new gunslinger in town, junior transfer Greyson Lambert. Will one of the three separate himself from the others before the end of fall practices and the first game of the season on September 5th?Personally, I go about my business how I usually do. Every day, the same routine. Just try and be the best quarterback I can be whether that is mentally, physically, going to throw, going to the film room. Staying consistent with that and making sure I don’t think too much ahead in the future. Try to take it day by day.
