Five former Georgia football players have been named to the 2016 Pro Bowl, which will be played at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii, on January 31.
St. Louis Ram rookie running back Todd Gurley, who lettered for the Bulldogs from 2012-14, joins Cincinnati Bengal receiver A.J. Green (2008-10), Bengal defensive tackle Geno Atkins (2006-09), Carolina Panther linebacker Thomas Davis (2002-04) and Kansas City Chief linebacker Justin Houston (2008-10) on this year’s squad.
This marks the first Pro Bowl for Gurley and Davis, who is a 10-year veteran. Green has been a Pro Bowler all five of his years in the league, Atkins has been named to the team four times in six years and Houston has earned a shot to the NFL’s all-star game four out of five seasons.
Georgia’s current players take on Penn State in the TaxSlayer Bowl in Jacksonville, Fla., on January 2. ESPN will televise the game at 12 p.m.
